Outlining things in photoshop is really easy and really important, but I didn't know how to until very recently. So here you go, a nice tutorial on it. :3First, open a photoshop document and select the part of the document you want outlined. If you was to outline the whole document, flatten all the layers (layer»flatten image) so there's only one layer, and then hold down control (or apple) and a.
Then, go under Edit and select "Stroke (Outline) Selection". A window will pop up like the one shown here. You need to edit the different sections to make the line look as you want...
- Where it says width, change 1 to the number of pixels wide you want the line to be. 1 or 2 px is normal good.
- Where it says color, select the color you want the line to be by clicking on the colored in box.
- Where it says location, select whether you want the border inside, outside, or centered on the selected area.
- Where it says blending, you can make the line look different based on what colors are on the layer(s) beneath it. If you want a plain line, leave this section alone.
Click OK and you should have your border!
