Waaaay, waaay, back. May 31st, 2004, my brother create a neopets account (brownie points if you can fin dit). We shared it, and I soon created my own account and took a great liking to this exciting neopets thing. A lot of time passed and I began to utilize Photoshop, for I'd always had it. It was old though, Ps Elements 2.0. Anyway, I didn't really know that at the time.
I tried creating a jubjub themed guild and requested a spiffy layout. Then I created a warriors roleplay guild called DayClan (*NOSTALGIAAA!* WOAR!) and requested a layout for that too. It was love. I looked at the code, tracked the website Smashed-Crayon.org(?) and it was more love. I read the epic CSS tutorial there, and I began to code layouts for DayClan.
I owned a lot of guilds, and I made a lot of layouts for myself. They were pretty cool. Not that great though. Through the whole process of guild failings I mastered Photoshop.
Pretty soon I had a interest in creating a writing website, but eheh, I realized that was going to be an utter fail because it would cost money to pay for some php programmer to do their thing, and it was all beyond me. The website would have been named figmint. I let it ferment in the corner.
Meanwhile, I made a website called Inkblot. I also was making a graphics site with someone, but I don't really remember it well. I remember photomaniping a monarch butterfly and making it purple. And the layout used the font zapfino. Loved that font, though its not very useful. And it was purple, and pretty ugly come to think of it. Anyway, Inkblot was the root of Figmint. Unfortunately, I was inconsiderate of history enough to let Zymic delete Inkblot the other day. *Fail* Oh well. It had a cool red layout, and used the font skia a lot. I never use skia anymore.
Over the summer, I think, I recreated Figmint. It had a baby blue layout that was just a (what do you call it...?) When you have a gradient in photoshop, but you make it so it's not smooth. It's sharp. Oh well, it was light blue with a semi-transparent white text box, a bracket drawn on the side and figmint written in.
Now, based on that memory, I think I got a graphics tablet my then. I have a white Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, and that gave me a lot more ability. Fun.
In any case, things chugged along like that. I created a guild named Yamato (Nostalgia attack again) with Lauren, and she co-owned Figmint with me. I made the layout Charred Ice for the site, and that was a landmark. around then I joined Rev.iew.me and felt dissed so I revamped the site a little in December. I don't think I changed too much.
I installed FanUpdate after making a pretend Cutenews like setup with tables. Things continued to chig along. Lauren made me a Coldplay fan. Yamato closed. Time passed. Lauren disappeared. Frisby got very sad.
I took requests for a while, but they made me tired and took up all my time. Sometimes I do secret dealings. haha. i do. Shh. You shouldn't know that. Requests are closed!
Somewhere in there I got affiliates and then partners. More time passed, we came to the middle age of Figmint, which I'm ending February 2010 after Figmint's second and more substantial revamp. There we have it. The future isn't written yet, so I've gotta stop here. Bwahahaaa.
Wondering what happened to DayClan?
