I have a thing for ink. It’s easy and radically awesome. Anyway, a while ago I made a brush set called Ink Blots, which were made with calligraphy ink within plastic bags. I let that fester in my closet for a while and rediscovered them a few hours ago. xD It was all fine; the ink had just spread out more and the shape of the blobs changed. So, why not, I made a new brush set called Ink Blotches with the new shapes.

Hello! It’s probably clear by now, but I’ve had some difficulties with the site. It got deleted inexplicably, March 25th or so, and I recreated it, but not everything’s in working order. More recent updates are lost. The stock photography section is down, but I will fix that as soon as I have the opportunity. Also, the domain figmintdesigns.com does not work for the moment, so change your links to figmint.zzl.org if you have a moment. I’m working on fixing this problem, but it seems to involve some waiting. Sorry about this.
Until the site’s back in order, there probably won’t be any content updates.

Hello! I added a texture pack with images of copper plates. They have some really excellent grungey textures on them, so have a look. I can’t wait to use them myself.

In other news, I got Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 the other day, and it’s really quite a disappointment. I haven’t found any features that make it better than PsE 4.0. Rather, it just seems simplified (and stupified) so people who don’t know anything about image editing can make kitschy images. Feels really unprofessional, and definitely not worth what it costs.

I made a little teaser post about ink smears a while ago, but never got around to making any content until today. Anyhow, that aside I now have a wonderful brush set you can download on that theme. C: Click the image to go to the brush page.
Enjoy.

Hello again, chaps. I’ve got another tutorial for you today, which you can read here. It’s on opacity, and focuses on changing background opacity, since that’s a very useful application of it. The tutorial explores three different methods of changing opacity, one of which is a clever trick I came up with myself. Hope you find it useful.

^ What is that? Read the tutorial and find out. o:
